"In spring of 2008, our Radiology Department kicked off a Siemens RIS upgrade from V25 to V30. Siemens contracted HIT to provide us with an Implementation Consultant for the upgrade. This was a big jump in versions and involved a lot of analysis and design to get the most of the enhancements out of the new version. As part of the upgrade, we also implemented the Mammography Module. The upgrade and Mammography implementation went very well. Our consultant, Mark Miller was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very responsive with following up on any issues that came up. He was always there when we needed him for any questions we had during the project. HIT also provided an extra resource (Mark Pryor) for go live support. Mark Pryor was also extremely knowledgeable and helped make the go live a great success.

"We highly recommend Sharon Compitello from HIT Consulting Services. She assisted us with our upgrade to V30B syngo Workflow. We asked for several enhancements that she was able to devise for us. She built pop up notifications that appear during tracking if an exam is ordered utilizing contrast and the patient had a previous reaction. In addition she created a workflow which has the tech IDOC pop up when the exam is tracked to EP, if it has not already been filled out. After a request from our Medical Director she created a Critical Finding Workflow where a Radiologist can identify an exam that has a critical finding, allows clerical staff to document the notification to the patient's care giver and then notifies the Radiologist back that the report has been given. A few months later when we upgraded from Magic to syngo Imaging we sought her out again to assist us with the build and live event. We moved from Read Exam to Portal and Sharon worked with us to complete the necessary setup. She showed us how to modify our tech and Radiologist IDOC's so they could be used within Portal. Our Radiologists clicked on the "eyeglass icon" or "set exam status to reported" in Read Exam frequently as we don't have Voice Recognition. We were insistent that we needed to duplicate that process and Sharon found a way to do it for us. Her knowledge with documents and UDR's is endless. She is willing to assist with anything you request. If you give her a problem she will give you back a solution and many times more than one option to pick from to solve that problem. One of the things we liked most was that she is willing to review everything she did and explain it, in detail, so that you will be able to troubleshoot any changes which may be needed down the road, to documents or workflow which she helped create. We will be requesting her for any future upgrades and we strongly recommend her to everyone else."

As you may know, we have been working with Mark Miller and Mark Pryor on a lengthy project to upgrade our RIS system and add voice recognition functionality for our Radiologists. After SEVERAL starts, stops, staffing issues and technology concerns we finally went live with our Pilot group of Radiologists on June 24th. I am forwarding this note to let you know that both Marks were key factors in our projects successful go live last week. They proved to be quite flexible as our live dates and training sessions were rescheduled more than a few times.

Mark M. and I spoke about projects like this and how they require leadership skills, detailed technical abilities, extensive knowledge of the products and an understanding of the Radiology business to be successful. I think your associates possess the full complement of skills required to take us from project kick-off to closure.

It has been quite a project (we all hate it when projects have "birthdays") but the team has hung together and ultimately went live with the syngoVoice application as well as completing a RIS upgrade last Summer. Mark and Mark's ability to pull in Siemens technical folks quickly when required, knowledge of RIS and related modules and their ability to proactively prepare us for common "pitfalls" kept us moving forward.

My understanding is that Physician Portal will require one more visit to wrap things up, but won't be GA until mid-Summer. Once scheduled, we look forward to seeing Mark one more time to add the final piece to our project.
